Ahead stems with threaded headset

What is an "Ahead style" stem? Performance Bike and Nashbar
both carry adapters which let you use a threaded fork with
stems designed for threadless. Is that what you mean? I've
got one on my bike and it works fine; adds a few ounces of
weight compared to a true threadless fork, but adds a lot of
versatility.

Quill adapter and many makers of these things. Tell yer LBS
to stop being LAZY and get ya one. They are available from
numerous suppliers...
