You can major in *anything* and go to medical school.
Choose something you like. Don't limit yourself to a

Hey! you seem to be very knowledgeable about career
decisions so maybe you can help me out! I wasted school
loans and financial aid funding on two lousy BA degrees. One
in traditional art and the other in media arts with
concentrations in computer graphics and photography. I
thought I could find decent work in either but after
graduation and four years of struggling to "make It" I am
just about ready to give up. I know people have stuck it out
longer than I ever will but enough's enough. I wanna pay my
rent. I wanna pay my bills. I am tired of being broke. I am
tired of the endless internships where established artists
either don't want to pay me or pay me just enough to keep me
coming back. Or better yet, lead me on to believe that
they'll hire me and then don't. LOL. One internship I had
wasn't even based on photography as it should have been. I
was responsible for getting this jerk's groceries. It seemed
like every 20 minutes this ass was sending me to the store
for groceries. But I realized that I was an ass as well for
accepting less than a real internship and learning
experience. He was a very popular aerial photographer but,
none the less, a jerk.

I want to go in to another field altogether. I have done my
research and I have found that Laboratories across the
country are having a difficult time recruiting qualified
Laboratory Technicians because there aren't enough of them
to go around. Some colleges and universities have even
dropped the discipline altogether because there were not
enough applicants for the program. So now I want to be a
Medical Laboratory Technician. Why because, other than art,
I enjoy science and biology and received good grades in both
subject too. As a teenager, I was a laboratory assistant for
the high school laboratory so I am still familiar with lab
equipment.

I look back on all the [censored] that I put up with to get those
damned degrees and get to this point to realize that none of
it was really worth the struggle. I have to face reality and
grow up, there are no stable jobs or money in art! So now I
want a real job with a real need. So how may I redeem myself
after busting my college funding for nothing? Are there
other people like me out there?
