Hydration pak valves

They seem "stretchable" enough to fit any tube within a
certain tolerance. Of course if your 'pak tube is smaller
than a 'bak tube, it'll be a problem.

Do you have a Hydrapak brand pak with the blue valve? If so
the new "squeezeable" type for Hydrapaks will fit plus it
has a lock. They have
5/16" ID tubing. If your's is another brand measure the
tubing to find out if it's the same.

Five years! Rog, I think it's time to put it to rest. There
are lots of new packs with new features and probably less
things growing in the bladders... ;o)

Unless you REALLY love it, then the 'bak valves are about $5
a piece, and should be interchangeable.

I'm using a Camelbak bite valve on my High Sierra hydration
pack and it works great. Just check one tube diameter on
whatever your using currently.

Allow me to vent for a sec on the High Sierra though....OK,
the backpack itself is awesome. I've had it for a year and
it seems really well built (it's been through several
crashes too). The bite valve is a joke though! Not only is
it harder to pull water through then the Camelbak, it
doesn't seal. The tube also has a mechanical valve (similar
to Camelbak's hydrolock) in addition to the bite valve, but
even if you close that between taking a drink, it still
leaks! I would always come home from a ride with one of my
socks all muddy from the water dripping on it.

I have two of the HSSC bladders with their Stream pack.
The company actually revised the design of the valve and I
think they made it worse! The fish-lips open/close valve
is a joke.
