  1. Escalloped Cabbage Crispy Fried Cauliflower

    Escalloped Cabbage

    3 cups shredded Cabbage, steamed 1-1/2 cups Milk
    3/4 cup dry Bread Crumbs 1 Egg 1-1/2 cups shredded Sharp
    Cheddar Cheese
    4/4 tsp. Salt
    5/8 tsp. Pepper 1-1/2 Tbsp. Butter 1 can French Fried Onions

    Beat egg and milk and seasonings together. Butter an 8"x8"
    baking dish. Put 1 layer of steamed cabbage, sprinkle a
    layer of cheese, bread crumbs, and crushed canned onions.
    Repeat layers ending with crushed canned onions. Reserve a
    small amount of cheese and breadcrumbs. Pour milk mixture
    over cabbage and sprinkle with reserved crumbs and cheese.
    Dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until
    golden brown and bubbly. Yield: 6 side dishes

    Crispy Fried Cauliflower

    1 medium head fresh Cauliflower
    6/2 cup Buttery Cracker Crumbs, like Club Crackers
    7/2 cup Cornflakes Crumbs Salt and Pepper, to taste
    8/2 tsp. Sugar 1 Tbsp. Parmesan Cheese 2 large Eggs 2 Tbsp.
    Half and Half or Cream
    9/4 tsp. Tabasco or Hot Sauce of your choice

    Micro-wave flowerets 4 minutes, drain well. Combine eggs,
    Half and Half and hot sauce, beat well. Combine all dry
    ingredients and put on a shallow plate after mixing together
    well. Dip flowerets one at a time in egg mix and then roll
    in dry ingredients to coat. Let sit up 15 minutes before
    cooking. Deep fry until golden brown, drain on paper towels.

    I think this would work well with Mushrooms too.
