Back in my Spokes & Pedals days, we never did too much high-
end business. In the first year of production, we sold only
3 Sugar 1s and we couldn't get any one of them to shift
correctly in the front. They would perform flawlessly on the
stand but once you got them on real dirt they would not
shift almost at all.

Surprisingly Fisher owned right up to the problem and
authorized us to install XTR cranks and FDs (as pictured all
over the store with Paola Pezzo sitting on it) and the
shifting was perfect.

Every single person I know that has a Fisher (cake, Sugar,
etc) has had their Bontcrappers replaced with Shimano XT or
XTR's. This seems to be a common problem with the cranks on
this bike.

Well, my Sugar crankset was replaced with RaceFace. But your
point is vaild* - Bontrager cranks were/are total [censored].

My big ring lost two teeth in a week.

My friend with a Tassajara is also a chainsuck victim.
Turns out some of the teeth on the middle ring were bent
from the factory.
