Yeah, rode Penasquitos at noon -- didn't really notice any
unusual dryness, but the wind AND temp were way up.

it was already nice and hot at 9:30 when I started and it
didn't cool off too much by 11 when I finished!
I did make the observation that I'm really, really slow now
though. I was dying out there!

Shoot, if I'd known you were starting @ 9:30... (Still have
to try your new trail head location.)

I do too. when starting at the east end, I don't go down
Eucalyptus because it's just too easy to bypass it so I
don't have to do the climbs at the old apartment. when I
start at the east side, I simply go down the road to the
end and pick up the ST back into the canyon from there.
Heck, I haven't even ridden all the way to Sorrento Valley
in months either. I've been turning left at the bottom of
the hill and taking the North side trail all the way back.
it's a little shorter but more enjoyable than the main
canyon dirt road I think.
