a local radio morning show in Atlanta (of all places this week) has jumped
on the "telling listeners to run cyclists off the road" bandwagon this
morning. Pretty much more of the same type discussion that went on with the
clear channel jocks in the recent past. If anyone is up for emailing those
in charge to voice their opinions contact info for the station can be found
at 99x.com99x.comOpen ↗ thanks

Can you provide a link to a credible source that cites exactly what this DJ said, and when?
It'd be pretty silly for people to just start e-mailing this station when they don't have any facts....
Thx.

I used to listen to the "Morning X" show all the time when
I lived in atl, it was the only morning show I've ever
really liked (unless you count npr). From looking at their
site it seems like they jumped on the howard stern/bob &
tom bandwagon. Sad really, radio has gotten unbelievably
cookie cutter. -

rationalize costs and profits across a large corporation.
Risk is bad, profit is good--and high-quality things are
often also high-risk.Oh well. OT as hell.

Fewer players also implies larger corporations with higher market capitalizations and a particular political orientation (an orientation not easily reconciled with the traditional stereotype of the media).
Now why do I have trouble imagining that they are looking out for the little guy....
Taking a class right now. Teacher has a friend who observes, "All newsgroup threads--regardless of the subject of the original post--eventually become diatribes about gun control."
I figure we're fewer than 11 posts away 😉

liberal pinko commie subversives? How can you say such a

was black. Damn commies!--

News Channel television channel and Clear Channel radio
broadcasts actually reach the UK yet they must. After all,
Guy commented on both and Guy is a pretty liberal fellow

Interminably. So *are* Fox and Clear Channel broadcasts
heard as easily in the UK as are BBC broadcasts? The Murdoch Empire extends to the UK in the form of BSkyB
(the sattellite/cable television company) and control of
_The Sun_ (indisputably the most influential lowbrow tabloid
in the UK. Governments tremble before the influence it has
over its semiliterate readership).Clear Channel, as far as I know, doesn't reach Blighty.
However, for broadcast radio, the UK has had the same level
of consolidation for nearly its entire broadcasting history--
it just happens to be a state corporation: the BBC.-Luigi
