I suspect my (female) partner is a super taster

We have strongly different favourite English beers - this is
not just a matter of preferance, our descrptions are
massively divergent, with she often describing a beer as
"very bitter" which I merely find "nicely hoppy".
Last night I followed a recipe which used a small amount of
star anise as a flavo(u)r enhancer. guardian.co.-guardian.co.-Open ↗

She found the meal almost inedible, describing the anise as
overpowering every other flavo(u)r in the dish.
I have (thank you, Google) found several articles on super
tasting w.r.t bitterness.
My question is - does super tasting also (strongly) affect
your sensitivity to aniseed?
