  1. ok, so i managed to go to another meeting and weigh in. i
    was up 0.2kg (0.5
lb). that is better than what the chemist's scale said on
    wednesday (i knew i didn't put on a kilo). i usually go
to the toilet right before a meeting, but at this venue,
they didn't have one, so maybe it was a maintain?
hopefully i will do better next week.

i really need to get off my bum & exercise. i am going to
make it my goal for this week to go for a walk at least
twice. means i have to get up at 6am, but i can do it!

  2. .2kg is not too bad, as you said you need add some exercise,
walking is a great exercise and some good "me" time. Have a
great week Michelle Ozzie in Switzerland

  3. so glad your gain wasn't as bad as you thought. If it was a bathroom issue
you will see it off as soon as you are back to your regular meeting, good
luck with the walk... Lee, who just did her first ten minutes on the

  9. I did another ten minutes today, I think it is not too hard.
I was concerned it would really bother my knee but it
didn't. Oddly enough the only muscle that hurt at all was my
left arm. I guess that was from holding on. I think it is
doable from a physical point of view, and an activity point
doesn't hurt my mind even if I don't eat it but I haven't
yet determined if I can do it permanently. In favor of doing
it is that I don't have to leave the house or be terribly
dressed and DH moved the treadmill to the kitchen so it is
    right there so noexcuses...

against it is that I can see that an extended amount of time
could be boring but again on the positive side, my legs are
so short that I have to concentrate on keeping up and not
falling over so the time does go pretty fast. It was in fact
quite a victory for me, Lee Prairie Roots <[email hidden]>

    that helps.

  18. I think I pushed myself because I appear to be having a stall again and this
is something I haven't tried yet. I do NOT enjoy it but I think I can live
with it and that was the key thing for me. As you know I won't do anything
to lose that I can't do forever. I figured that I could try this and since
I already had the treadmill, it cost nothing and I could see if I could live
with it. I also decided that the treadmill removed many of the traditional
excuses for not exercising. It is here in the house, so weather/travel time
couldn't be an excuse. DH moved it to the kitchen so it isn't even a few
steps away so that was removed as an excuse. I also decided I would get up
to 30 minutes a day and then increase the incline. I made a deal with
myself that my minimum would be a half hour while I did laundry so there is
no "waste" of time. Sorry for rambling, but you are right, this is a major
    NSV for me, Lee

  19. I'm so in awe of you for deciding to add this at this point
in your program. You never stop challenging yourself.

I think I pushed myself because I appear to be having a
stall again and this is something I haven't tried yet. I do
NOT enjoy it but I think I can live with it and that was
the key thing for me. As you know I won't do anything to
lose that I can't do forever. I figured that I could try
this and since I already had the treadmill, it cost nothing
and I could see if I could live with it. I also decided
that the treadmill removed many of the traditional excuses
for not exercising. It is here in the house, so
weather/travel time couldn't be an excuse. DH moved it to
the kitchen so it isn't even a few steps away so that was
removed as an excuse. I also decided I would get up to 30
minutes a day and then increase the incline. I made a deal
with myself that my minimum would be a half hour while I
did laundry so there is no "waste" of time. Sorry for
rambling, but you are right, this is a major NSV for me,

My current weight: 147 lbs Weight change since my last
recorded weight: -5 lbs Total weight change to date: -85 lbs

Plummeted to reach two mini-goals, first to weigh less than
150, and second to have lost 85 lbs overall. I now drop two
daily points to 20, and I'm 2 lbs from my WW goal. One of
these days, I'll have to set my personal goal.

I can explain this week's drop. First, I painted my kitchen
and bathroom last weekend, and stripped the layers of
acrylic paint off one side of the basement door. I munched
almost the entire day on whatever was at hand (mostly fat-
free pretzels that I use for lunches). By the end of day
one, I was ravenous and tired; the thought of cooking, or
even using the microwave in the basement, required more
effort than I could muster. I ordered a medium Fit N
Delicious veggie pizza from Pizza Hut, along with a salad,
and ended up eating the entire thing in one sitting. Dinner
alone was 24 points. Day two went similarly, except that
instead of eating pretzels, I got through the day on ice
cream. I don't remember what I ate for dinner. Maybe
nothing. Between the two days, I ate all daily points PLUS
my flex points and then some. By Monday morning, the scale
was up 3 lbs over Saturday's WI. I figure that was mostly
water retention from the sodium-heavy eating on Saturday
plus the sore muscles from painting.

Monday I got right back on program, eating only my daily
points spread over 3 regular meals. Tuesday I ate a little
under my daily points, spread over 3 regular meals. By
Wednesday, I was eating about half my daily points, not
    eating dinner at all.

Here's the deal: Construction is rapidly coming to a close.
By the end of Monday, I'll have a fully functioning
bathroom and kitchen. By the end of Tuesday, 98% of the
work will be done. This week was a frenzy of activity and
decision-making and fretting as everything started coming
together. Every evening I had to inspect the day's work and
take in all the things that delighted me and make notes
about questions and things left undone or done incorrectly.
Then I'd have to make a trip to the hardware store for some
item or two I'd forgotten I needed. I was too busy to eat.
And I had no appetite. The butterflies in my stomach left
    no room for food.

Other than last week's painting, no exercise.

I fully expect to gain back some of this week's whoosh once
life returns to some semblance of normal. I figure a
    kitchen/bath remodel is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and
so has been my way of eating this week. Not a chance that
I'll make a lifetime habit of not eating. But it's nice to
be in the 140s, if only for another day or two. I haven't
seen this decade on the scale since I was in high school
    more than 30 years ago.

This weekend I'm stripping paint again, this time the
bathroom door frame. Monday I'm taking the day off from work
to hover over the plumbers through the installation of my
appliances and fixtures. Everything is so beautiful, I'm
having a hard time believing it's my house being
transformed. That's not so different from my disbelief about
having lost 85 lbs and wearing size 8 petite pants. These
days the gratitude I'm feeling for the changes in my life
    reduces me to tears.

It's the best day of my life!

  20. Hi, Lee, Congratulations on the exercise NSV. I love to exercise and miss
it when I can't. It is now very hard for me to go 2 days in a row without
    some type of exercise.
