Which Trainer do you use ?

Cycle-Ops Fluid 2... It has to be good, all the top teams across the country use it for there training. And it is endorsed by CTS. I have never used a smoother trainer.

I looked into the Cycle-Ops 2 and read some reports of fluid leakage. I don't know if this is a rare occurrence or not. I'm guessing you have not had any problems. Anybody else using one and if so what are your thoughts?

I have the Fuid 2 with no leaks. I understand that some of the first models of the fluid trainer had some leakage problems. I believe they have resolved this problem now.

I forgot. It also comes with a lifetime warranty

we have a cycle-ops fluid squared trainer at home and a set of rollers. best set of training tools to have. on the issue of fluid leakage, we do not have that problem. they redesigned the head units to fix that problem.

I have a TACX T1450. A great machine. I use my mountain bike on it 😄 Keeps the winter not so boring 😄

They retail for around $130 or so Canadian.

I'm using the Tacx Grand Excel with i-magic upgrade. Don't try one of these because you'll have to have one. It really takes the boredom out of using a trainer!

I'm looking for a trainer for my Giant NRS. What difference are there in trainers? Are the special features i should look out for?

I personally believe a fan forced ergo is the way to go. It's all set up, smoother than any trainer you will ever use, and it doesnt chew rubber! Downside is they're a bit more expensive... about $AU1000+

I ride a V-Bike from Star trac, is very quiet and smooth and you road bike does not get worn out.

I rode a Lemond Spinmaster last Wednesday. very smooth better then the V-Bike it has one big difference the resistance is much more sensitive so finding the right setting is easier but to change to a hill requires a bit of wrist action.

I never use my steering unit. To race against another rider, I (like most of the riders in the league) use autosteer and follow their line.

I would recommend the Cat - eye cs1000 as it's solid and low maintenance, and will provide years of joy! It's both magnetic (for inclines of upto10%) and fan assisted to give a real road feel.
On screen displays lets you track your time, wattage (intervals ideal), and speed etc. Brought mine for £280.
