Hi, I am setting up a bike with FSA compact cranks and was considering moving to DA 10spd. Has anyone done this and if so how was the shifting. (It is a triathlon bike and getting 9speed bar end shifters is apparently an impossiblity...) Any shifting issues ?

That's not true, 9-speed bar-end shifters are readily available. In fact, we have them in stock.

Double chainwheel setups are pretty easy; where you get into serious interchageability issues for front shifting is when you have a triple chainring setup.

I just got my Trek 5500 back with the new FSA Carbon Compact crankset on it. Haven't had a ride yet. They say it shifts great. Knowing them, I'm sure that's just an assessment from "on-the-stand" and not "on-the-road." I'm concerned because the front derailleur is attached to the frame in a manner that doesn't allow enough downward adjustment. There's a substantial space between the bottom of the derailleur cage and the top of the chainring. I hope this won't pose a problem.

Works fine..no problem at all...
