  1. I need help folks...I seem to get this pain only on my right foot right in the middle of the foot like in between big toe and second toe..right at the ball of my foot..but feels more like on top of foot and not ball...tried diff pedals (Dura Ace and Speed Play) but still have pain. It seems to come about 30-40 miles into a ride. I am totally perplexed here...has anyone experienced similar pain? I often have to stop and take my foot out and stretch my foot ..especially on long rides. Help!

  2. I don't really know the exact solution to your problem, but it sounds like you may need orthotics. One that probably gives more support to your metatarsals.

  3. I had the same problem and figured a gel insert would help. I went to Walmart and got a pair for 10 bucks and I've never been more comfortable. Get the ones that cover the entire bottom of the shoe, not half.

My pain is more like a cramp...pain feels like a cramp inside my foot...was that the same pain you had? Gel inserts sound like a cure for pain on the bottom of you foot?

  5. The cramp can come from you bending your foot. if you're using toe clips, change out to clipless pedals. If that still doesn't work, put in the gel inserts and make sure your shoe is very close fitting.

I know that when I used to ride toe clips, I'd get to where the fronts of my feet would feel like they were on fire.....clipless pedals and gel inserts fixed that right up. It used to be that I couldn't ride more than 3 hours......I'm getting 7 hours on my distance rides now with no foot problems at all.

  6. HI, I'm new here and I am having EXACTLY the same problem-soreness and a cramping pain in the middle of only my left foot. I use clipless pedals. The pain is minor in training but I did a rally two days ago and went very hard and afterwards could barely walk. I also had severe pain in my left buttocks bone, and my left quad was extremely sore ( I was not able to put any weight on it afterwards). Meanwhile my right foot, leg and butt bone were fine. I think that my cycling shoes are too big and this is the cause of my problem. My left foot is a little smaller than the right and I wear two socks on it to compensate but it still feels too loose. Is this the problem or is it something else?

  7. Move your cleat back 2-3cm, this w2orked for my foot pain...good luck.
