  1. I have read of beer described as "nutritious". Is this so in
the sense that it is healthier to drink mostly water but
    some beer, than only water?

"Nutritious" simply means that it contains nutrients, both
macro and micro. It's an empirical term, not a normative
one. It doesn't mean "healthy" or "desirable" or "right"; it
just means that it's possible to obtain nutrients from
drinking it. Note that "nutrients" includes "sources of
energy"; beer definitely has calories. "Nutrient" doesn't
have *any* connotations of "more is better."

Thanks, but is the answer to my question involving
    water "no"?

What else do you consume? Depends what you need. A starving
person will gain much from beer.
