ok.. i gotta getr some tyres, my crappy kenda weighs a ton and its wearing out FAST and my continental on the front is pretty worn
so.. i need a reccomendation for some tyres, i want 2.1" wide on the back and 2.0" on the front(if i cant get a 2.0 ill just get 2.1)
ill mostly be riding on sand and soft-hard dirt so.. what do ya recon, i want a tyre thats light but also cheap im not keen on spending too much on a tyre:p
Tyre rule number one - Fat one goes on the front, you can get away with a narrower rear but you want the best possible cornering grip.
Personally i've been getting good results with a Panaracer Fire XC pro on the front and i've been riding rocks, sand and firetrails. Don't know if they are the lightest tyre around but they were pretty cheap
For the rear I'm using a Ritchey elevader but i'd also consider getting another Fire XC or an old WTB velociraptor if I could find it
MMmm tread.. the 2.1 wide fire xc pro weighs 580g with the Aramid bead, thats a pretty decent tyre weight for 2.1's i think, probly wont get much lighter than that from what ive seen anyway, i might have a look and see how much i can get some of those for some time soon 😉
