  1. A quarter teaspoon per day with breakfast did not work for
me even after 40 days. I gave up cinnamon for about a month.

Then, I started again. This time, a half teaspoon mixed with
my psyllium fiber morning drink began working almost
    immediately.

My typical morning reading before the above regimen was 135
to 139. I've been getting this reading for five years,
except during occasions of illness when the readings would
    climb to around 150.

Readings following the new regimen are in the low 120's.
    Today's reading was
    118.

I'm still taking my medicine: Metformin 500 mg. three times
    a day. Glipizide 2.5 mg. 4 times a day.

Thanks for the report. Maybe if everyone shared their
experience with cinnamon we could get some semblance of an
experimental protocol. What brand of cinnamon are you using?
    How does it taste?

Have you tried post prandial comparisons?

I have tried that too, for a week or two.

    Effect on my bg-levels: NONE.

  4. I've been using McCormick's ground cinnamon that I buy at
Costco in an 18 oz package for about seven or eight dollars.
It tastes OK. It's not a premium cinnamon.

I'm not aware of a decrease in post prandial readings, but
they've always been pretty good thanks to Metformin. My
interest in cinnamon has been to lower my morning fasting
readings which Metformin was unable to lower. I've only been
taking the 1/2 teaspoon for a week with the modest
improvement I described. My previous attempts at 1/4
teaspoon were ineffective in lowering the fasting readings.

I've been feeling good results from a 00 capsule before
food, sometimes a second one during a large or long meal.
Seems to get more energy out of the food without a feeling
    of 'spike'.

Usually I combine this with some black tea to wake up the
pancreas before the food comes, as my problem has involved
    delayed insulin response.

Also a bit less problem with dullness/lethargy after meals.
But I've been changign other factors too.

Awaiting more test strips to resume BG testing.
