  1. Hey I need some help here. I used to take an anti-
depressant. Celexa. Have quit for the past 3 months,
    Thank God.

But doctor said I had low hemoglobin. 8.2 I am a female. 19
years old. I never had this problem before I started taking
Celexa which is one of the reasons I stopped it.

I am not anemic, I had the tests done.

How can I increase my hemoglobin? From the research I did it
    needs to be atleast 12.

    Thanks

I think you are a bit confused or the very least I am
confused. If you have a low hemoglobin then you are anemic.
If you had tests done showing you were not anemic then we
are both confused. The tests for anemia would reflect
changes indicative of the type of anemia. To correct the
anemia would require the nature of that anemia. Just
guessing from your age I would think it would be iron
deficiency. Eat foods rich in iron or take tablets from your
doctor. If the anemia persists or if you have excessive
menstrual bleeds then you might need a further evaluation
for conditions causing excessive bleeding such as Von
    Willebrands disease.

Which test is this if not haemoglobin ?

  4. I have not taken an anti-depressant but for some strange
reason, I was eating garlic and taking aspirin for energy,
and that was the combination that gave me a hemoglobin of 7.
Iron pills remedied the situation. I believe at present it
is 12 at last test. But doctor insists on a test
    periodically. Ask your doctor.

  5. To build your haemoglobin you require an iron, B12 and L-
Isoleucine levels to be satisfactory and time. This is a
slow process to build you blood back up.

L-Isoleucine is an amino acid and should be taken only as a
balance Branch Chain Amino acid complex (leucine and valine
combined with it). If "free form amino acids" are available
in your country these are the best forms. see a heealth food
    or body building store.
