  1. I'm trying to find a shop (not mailorder) near to Cardiff
(well by near I mean within a 100 miles) which stocks
Magellan GPSr's - specifically the Meridian Platinum.

I know GPSW have a showroom in London but they're only open
Mon-Fri which is abit awkward with work.... so it needs to
be a shop open on the weekends as I want to see one the
platinums before parting with my brass...

    Any help or ideas appreciated,

    TIA

    Richard.

(Tried Up & Under but don't have any in stock at the moment)

How about www.mesltd.co.uk in Bristol? haven't checked what
stock they hold, but they've been around long enough. Marine-
focussed, but do other bits too.

Have you tried Outdoors, YHA etc? Or even Blacks or
Milletts? I think I got my eTrex in the YHA shop -
could've been Outdoors - and they had other brands in at
    the time IIRC.

Outdoors just do Garmin now, ditto Milletts, Blacks is my
    next call on Saturday...

    Thanks,

Mine came from a boat chandlers, and the GPS FAQ suggests
they're cheaper than outdoor retailers. I think I paid
about 20 quid more than the internet warehouses ask, which
isn't too bad. Field and Trek were way more expensive (and
didn't have the model I wanted). Might be worth checking
    the Yellow Pages.

www.burdengroup.com (who are listed by Magellan as a
distributor) list marine retailers they supply, but there's
no indication of whether it's Magellan stuff that they
    supply them with.
