I just returned from a fabulous trip where I ate the most
incredible food. Prime tenderloin; crab cakes. Lamb chops.
Ground lamb with spinach curry. Veal piccata. Omelets with
spinach and bacon and cream cheese.
Not that I expect to eat like this every day... but think
about it, folks... not everyone can eat like this at all.
They need help. They need basic stuff, like bread and milk
and eggs. They need canned soups and dried pasta and rice
and packages of things we tend to scoff about here on rfc
but which, for some people, are the best meals of the week.
So give what you can, when you can. The next time you think
about passing by that silly taco dinner kit, toss it in your
cart and add it to the things you plan to give to help the
hungry, the homeless. Give to your local food bank. It's a
gift that is returned threehundredfold.
