I have used the Ultra for a longtime. The Ultra strip
problem is causing me to evaluate other meters. The
"compct"is very easy to use but I had one result I did not
like

I suspect it was contamination of the samples. The 387
probably was touching the skin while trying to hit the
sample with shaky hands.

I guess it is important to use a larger size drop and
carefully get the test strip near the center of the drop.
I want to go to the compact since it simpler to use. Others
have reported problems with the operation. Will see in time.
I did not inject for the 387 reading. It is important that I
keep a mental record and know the range of expected blood
sugar. Any questions send me to a second meter. Too much
insulin and happy 911 run time.
I think the "compact" has good human engineering But
some people indicate that there is a construction
quality problem.
Test for a while. Guy
