Ugh. There are two ways to view the candyass rule: as a
strict law, and as the interpretation of the law and what
it was attempting to address--sort of like the Torah and
the Talmud, or the Constitution and the intent of the
original framers.

The operational rule was: make one pick.

The behavior that prompted the rule was making multiple
guesses in a shotgun fashion, and then claiming credit when
any one of the choices won. That's candyass.

I don't particularly hold to the "make only one pick"
rule. I do think, however, that if one makes eleven picks
then demanding that we now bow to your prediction prowess
is a tad unseemly, especially since Backstedt wasn't even
one of them.

Though candyass, you get some points for picking Cancellara
for 3rd. That was less than obvious. If he had actually
finished 3rd rather than 4th I'd start to worry.
