We're not going to be around during the majority of the
summer, so we've decided not to open the swimming pool this
year. We'd certainly like to use it next season, and in the
past it has always been opened, so I'm not quite sure of how
to keep it closed, but stabilized through a 100 degree, four
month summer. The pool itself is a 20 year old, in-ground
16,000 gallon white plaster pool, and has mostly filled up
with spring rain. If anyone has any suggestions or advice,
please share…

temperatures without the risk of damage to the finish
(marcite, pebbletec, or whatever).Don't be penny-wise and pound-foolish; just open it
and pay the pool service place to take care of it
while you are away.
