  1. For those of you on r.f.c who use MS Windows, I figured I
would alert you to a virus that seems to be making the
rounds on the Internet rather quickly tonight. This virus is
called I-Worm.LovGate.w and it is not being filtered by all
virus scanners. The virus arrives via email in the form of a
zip or exe file. The subject of the email that carries the
virus varies. Do not assume that just because an email with
an attachment gets past your anti-virus software that it is
virus free. Delete any emails with attachments that you are
not expecting unless you receive positive confirmation from
the sender that the message is safe.

Who in their right mind would ever open an email attachment
from someone they didn't know?... Especially an
    executable...

Originally, this old chestnut told you to delete all emails,
    as I recall.

Not true. Viruses - actually this one is a worm - come with
all sorts of disguises and the subject/sender of the message
is not likely to indicate any association with [censored].

Remove the [censored] from my email address before using.

[censored] is like Mae West: when it's good, it's good, but when
it's bad it's better. Or, it's like pizza: even when it's
    bad, it's not *that* bad.
