Anyone got a new light bike? if so you may have a problem, on my scales a Giant tcr with canpy 10 spd and Bontrager wheels is 6.7KG therefor not legal under UCI rules....anyone else got a bike under 6.8kg?

Wish I could, not my bike. all I can show you is my tcr2 with Ultegra and topolino's, still comes in at just over 7kg with a medium frame, the one I was originally talking about is a small frame...I seen a post in the "How much does your bike way..." thread ... guy has a bike at 6.5kg.....that would be worth a look. -
I'm sure it's been mentioned elsewhere in this forum, but the lightest I've ever heard of was this bike with a weight of 4166,9 g. or 9.19 lb:

i have a caad 5 cannondale with full carbon forks wif new shamino 10 speed and it comes in at 6.53 kg for a 56 cm frame

In amatuer races your not going to have a problem with weight. I am currently looking at a new road bike that I want to use in races; the FUJI TEAM SUPER LITE it weighs in at a total of 14.9lbs. Yes under UCI rules and even USCF rules its illegal, but when you do the club races and even state races they really don't look at that until you get into the elite pros in the international circuit where you will be riding with Ian and Lance.

If your bike is to light and you are going to compete in a high level race then just stick some lead to the bottom bracket shell
TheUCI doesn't mandate where the 6.8kg has got to come from and I believe Team Saeco may have had to add ballast last year at the tour.

(I can't imagine anyone safely riding this bike).What makes you think it's not safe? It sure looks strong to me. I think it just shows how far materials have come in the last few years; they are a lot lighter and a lot stronger.
My bike weighs 22 lbs, a 1980's model Cannondale. It sure would be a joy to ride this Agresti featherweight into the mountains.
