It's day 3 that I've had my elliptical and I've only been able to do 10 minutes straight which made me very upset because I thought I'd be able to do more. So this morning I was determined to do 20 minutes & I made a plan that at every 10 minute mark I'd stop & get off the machine for 1 minute to stretch and have a sip of water. Well I did my 20 minutes & did my little break and then I got back on & just kept going to 31 minutes & burned 272 calories.. YIPPEE!!! I'm so happy that I did it.
My question is this even though it might be a dumb one.
30 minutes straight exercise & 30 minutes exercise with stops in between. Do they still have the same effect?
You probably earn the same amount of points but it might have some slight bearing on cardio impact since the heart rate probably drops during that minute, then has to be boosted again. But don't worry about it - slow and steady and you will be able to stay onboard.
