Cut the spuds into steak fry shapes, that is, large,
long fries.
Spray or rub on a little cooking oil and season with salt &
pepper, plus anything else you like and have at hand - chili
powder, paprika, thyme, garlic, etc.
Roast in your oven as hot as it will go (typically about
500°) about 1/2 hr - turn the fries halfway through.
You should get them crispy on the outside and tender inside,
with hardly any fat.
