I just ordered my first fork that will need air pumped into it, a Marz Z1 Dropp Off 2. I have never had anything other than elastomer or coil and oil fork.'
Will I need a special pump?
Will I need a guage?
I weigh 210lbs. Will I need stiffer springs (it has an coil and oil)?
I don't understand anything beyond rebound and preload adjustment. Any tuning tips?

Why did you not ask these questions before you bought the fork??? Just bring it to your lbs and the will set you up right. Try to support your lbs whenever possible.

Because I read enough reviews to have faith that it is a great buy for 290. My lbs' aren't very good. Infact they aren't much better than wallmart. ;-( Also, I like to tinker with these things myself.

You could start by downloading the manual and reading it <h- ttp://www.marzocchi.com/template/listSPAManuals.asp?IDFolde- r=126&LN=UK&Sito=mtb>
Starting at page 57 it discusses the air deal with your fork.
You may need heavier springs. You could always give Marzocchi (661 257 6630) a quick phone call and ask them. I seem to remember their forks coming stock for an approx 180 lb rider ??? could be wrong. -- Slacker

I already have read it. It doesn't make sense to me that is why I am asking for help.
