This is going to sound crazy, or like an excuse theory or something but I'm actually asking this as a serious question.
Since starting WW almost 2 weeks ago, I haven't had any real chocolate, a staple of my earlier diet. I have been in a total funk the last week or so. Hardly able to think, just generally unhappy and tired.
They say that chocolate releases various feel-good endorphins in the brain. Is it possible that my funk is linked to the sudden drop in my chocolate intake?

I know that if I don't eat chocolate for a time, I do feel "in a funk" as you say. It may be related to the chemical reactions, or lack thereof, or it may be due to feeling deprived. I eat 1.5 - 2 pts worth of chocolate almost every day. It is my choice to spend some of my points this way. Some people indulge in those skinny ice cream sandwiches (skinny cow?), but I don't care much for ice cream - except for dulce de leche - can't have that in the house any more.

Chocolate! Oh, I love the stuff! But I also know that eating too much of it screws my diet up. So, I get the Klondike Slim a bears that are diet Klondike bars. They are only 3 points and they fix my chocolate craving.

The chocolate coated WW snack bars are quite good: enough decent chocolate to satisfy the taste, and chewy enough to give the feeling that you really have eaten something. They are 1.5 points, and I tend to have one with my morning coffee break. For the most part i have weaned myself off chocolate, to the extent that a very little good dark (78%+ cocoa solids) chocolate will do me for several days! --

I commiserate. I too love chocolate, but along with cheese, chocolate is completely off the menu. I have however found a substitute. You can get low calorie (40/serving) chocolate drinks and they are quite nice. I know it's not the real thing, but they might at least get your through. Good luck
I find Hershey's lite syrup to be a reasonable substitute for chocolate.

Nope, doesn't sound crazy to me at all. I remember reading something about the relationship between chocolate and good endorphins. I love my chocolate and refuse to give it up totally. I just found different ways to be able to include it yet stay in control. I now buy the mini-size candies, such as hershey kisses ... about half a point each. One or two a day doesn't do much damage and can easily be worked into my plan. Skinny cow fudge bars are great for chocolate cravings ... very chocolaty and log in at just under 2 points. You don't have to totally eliminate chocolate from your diet - just work it into your plan.

I 've lost nearly 80 pounds and I 've had 2 pieces of chocolate everyday. I like it, it makes me feel good, and it 's perfectly possible to work them into my daily points allowance, so why give up ? I won't :-)) -- Nathalie from Belgium 134.1/98.1/minigoal 97.8 Goal 68 Kg 134.1/98.2/minigoal 215.6/Goal 150 pounds RAFL 105.3/98.1/96 Kg 134/1.99/212 lbs "Alex Robinson" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:HcOdnYcy0o13O_ndRVn- [email hidden]...

Just remember that WW is a WOL not a diet. Make changes to your way of eating that you can live with for the rest of your life. We do make scrafices but some are truely necessary if we are to lose the weight and keep it off. If having chocolate each day is part of who you are then work it into your daily program. I get my chocolate "fix" via Non- Fat chocolate ice cream at our local ice cream store or Skinny cow Fudge bars. Both only 2 points and are my dessert each night.
