Hi,
I have just begun walking daily and I have two issues which I would
need help with:
1) could someone please recommend good reasonably-priced
walking shoes? I live in Florida so the weather is hot
most of the year so I would need them well aerated and I
have a small bone-spur so I would need them
soft/springy/cushioned. Since I have recently moved to
the USA I do not know local sport stores. Can anyone
please reccommend a shoe model and/or a store?
2) All my life when I walked I had a tendency to feel a
rather strong pain on the external part of my shin. Here
is where this pain is exactly located: looking from
above, facing forward, if one would see a cross-section
of my shin made about one third up from my ankle to my
knee it would be in the muscle which is right below the
skin at about "three o'clock" (or right hand,
external, side) on my right shin and "nine o'clock" (or
left hand, external, side) on my left foot. The best I
can tell is that this muscle might be called the 'soleus'
muscle. I also sometimes have this feeling at the front
of my shin (so it might be the 'tibialis anterior' muscle
in this case).
It is somewhat worse on my right foot and it feel as if this
small muscle is a little too short or otherwise inflamed.
The feeling is much worse at the begginning but if I succeed
in walking about one mile it get better and after 2-3 miles
it almost disappears.
Should I pick some special type of shoe or is there anything
else I could do to prevent this muscle problem?
Thanks for everything!
