Can anyone tell me what the term "hypoechoic" as in
hypoechoic nodules means in layman's terms? Are hypoechoic
thyroid nodules ever cancerous?

structure with poor internal reflection. The most common
such structure would be a fluid-filled cyst, and the most
common hypoechoic nodule in the thyroid would be a thyroid
cyst. Thyroid cysts are rarely cancerous.HMc
