We have recently installed showers at the workplace but
previous to that I would bring baby-wipes with me to work.
After rinsing off in the restroom sink I would wipe down my
pits, chest and as much of my back as I could reach. My co-
workers "say" they couldn't smell any body odors. (And I do
sweat a considerable amount.)

This was also recommended in one of the many bicycling mag's
a while back.

My old company had showers, which was a bit of a boon
because it was a 20km ride. I used to take a change of
clothes, but keep a pair of shoes at the office.

Current company doesn't have showers, but then I'm only 5km
from the office. If you're going to ride in your office
attire, the one big piece of advice that I'd offer is that
you don't need to ride like you would do your mountain bike.
Give yourself plenty of time and ride at a really gentle
pace, that way you won't sweat so much.

No showers at work, but there are basins in the washroom
large enough to do a reasonable job. I just keep some wash
stuff and body spray in the cupboard and dry down after with
paper towels. Change of clothes comes in a rucksack with me,
the ride clothes get hung on the bike to dry through the
day. 8-10 minute turnaround and i'm at the desk.

Firstly, I don't sweat, I perspire. Secondly, I don't
perspire.

J/k, I'm fortunate to work 1/2 mile from home. When I
had a longer ride I took a sort of sponge bath at work
and was fine.

I just do a quick wipe-down with *unscented* baby wipes in
the bathroom after I get to work. Fluff up the helmet hair,
put on the lipgloss and I'm good for the day. Make sure you
get the unscented wipes, unless you don't mind walking
around smelling like a baby's ass all day (and parents of
new babies WILL notice, trust me).

I keep work clothes here. I bring them downstairs with me to
the showers. I bring the clothing to a local laundry when

Maybe I've been kidding myself....but for a few years, I
worked out with a primarly-Japanese club in Hawaii....like
we got instructors straight from Japan who couldn't speak
English...

Bottom line, I'd guess that the people I was training with
at the time were/are about as perceptive in that area as
anybody in the world.

They didn't have showers in that particular gym and my
recollection is that there was a consensus that you can
sweat and dry off once in a day without getting smelly...
OTOH, at the time I was commuting between University of
Hawaii campuses racing urban traffic on my 10-speed and
taking about five showers per day between trips....

I commute about 16 miles with a couple of good size hills,
by the time I get to work I'm soaked!

Fortunaly my Company has a locker room with showers which
also comes in handy for those lunch time Mt bike rides. They
even allow me to keep my HArd tail at the office , so I ride
my Road bike to/From work and Mt bike at lunch .

I bought a Blowfish Camelbak so I can pack my work clothes
in it, along with the 100 oz. water bladder, which is half-
way full since I only have 10 mi. Since my company does NOT
have showers, I bought some "baby wipes" to take the sweaty
smell out of me. I've also packed a bar of soap and a face
towel in my office to wash up. Of course I have a pair of
shoes at the office too, since I wear bike shoes with cleats
for my clipless pedals.

What ever you do, please... for the love of God, do not try
to cover up your funk with cologne! Human sweat + cologne =
cat urine :-(

Trust me, had a past roommate and current coworker that does
this [censored]; it makes the back of my throat tighten like I'm
about to puke.

It's not a fetish mate, it's a necessity...

Small price to pay for riding I think, I do the 6 miles to
work quicker than the guys in cars and have a lot more fun
and excersise. Use the back lanes, beat the traffic jam and
enjoy a spin through the countryside.
