Hi all... first message in this group.
For the past 3 months, I've been battling with an unknown
ailment that has caused severe anxiety, trembling, severe
insomnia, numbness, dizziness, headaches, and fuzzy
eyesight. It's been a struggle for survival every day. Today
I did some research and realized that I think my blood sugar
is low. I've compounded the problem the past months by not
eating much, as the terror of the symptoms made me quite
nauseated. I now notice that in retrospect, there were times
I felt absolutely terrible, but forced myself to eat
something, and I felt quite a bit better afterwards.
So, I'm going for a 3 hour glucose test tomorrow. While i
wait for the results, I was hoping for advice in how best to
handle low blood sugar at night. For the past 3 weeks I
haven't gotten more than 3 or 4 hours sleep, as my body
always wakes itself at 3am with trembling and anxiety (I
have no trouble falling asleep it seems). I then can't get
back to sleep.
Can anyone give me some advice on what to do, what to eat,
how much etc when i wake up, assuming it is low blood sugar?
thanks. Any other help or support would be greatly
appreciated!!
