  1. Well, I had a small gain this week, up 1.5 lbs. I am
thinking that it might be because I worked out before my
weigh in. I typically get up and spend some time doing some
things around the house and then go to my Saturday meeting.
I don't eat or drink a thing before weighing in. This week,
I got up and went to water aerobics class and did that for
an hour, then drank a full bottle (1/2 liter) of water and
then went to weigh in. I also did an hour of water aerobics
last night. Could it be that my muscles are holding on to
fluids from the new activity? I know I am not upset by this
gain, but am hoping that it will even out next week and I
will be on the losing side again.

  2. I'm not sure if it was the exercise before WI or the 1/2
liter of water you drank. I've weighed myself before and
after a Curves session as a test one day. I actually lost a
    pound during the session.

  3. I never do much the day before WI as I find any movement makes me gain, Lee

  4. I used to work out before my WI and always showed a loss.
Now I weigh in on Saturday mornings so I cannot work out
before. I think that working out would make you lose
weight but that is just my personal experience. I was
lifting weights and walking on the treadmill---not doing
    water aerobics.

  5. If I work out hard, I generally show a temporary gain at the
scale. If my muscles are sore, I will definitely show a big
gain. I don't exercise at all on the morning of my weigh-in
and I keep my workout the day before to a familiar routine
that will not make me sore. I know it is not a real gain,
but it feels good to get confirmation of weight loss on weigh-
in day. Of course, the liter of water will show up at the
    scale in spades as well.

  6. Hi, Deb, Either the exercise or the water could have
caused the gain. It will be interesting to see how you do
    next week.
