  1. I am trying to change a bent front sprocket ( attached to
pedal crank) on my bike. Can any one give me instructions on
    how to replace this.

    Thanks

You can try straightening it first. Try using a crescent wrench.

If that fails or you just don't want that method.
If your chain rings are relplacable:
"The chainrings are held to the cranks by chainring bolts. Use a hex key wrench and check each bolt. Hold the back chainring nut from spinning with a chainring nut wrench, such as the Park Tool CNW-1. Again a mild thread locker or grease on the threads is a good idea. Secure steel chainring bolts to about 60 inch-pounds, which is about fifteen pounds of effort holding a wrench four inches from the bolt."

I've spent most of my money on mountain biking and windsurfing.
    The rest I've just wasted.

It sounds like a one piece crank... or you would just have
used an allen wrench to take the ring off and hammer it
straight? If so, get a crank puller, should last a lifetime
and if you do aspire to any level of bicycle self
maintenence, it's a necessary part in your toolkit.

</snip> A thread locker or grease? One slips, the other
    sticks, which do they recommend?
