I have a local bike shop with an ez-1 that's been hanging in
the window for at least 6 months. Since I am usually walking
my dog when passing I have not gone inside to see what else
they might have.. but will one day. Actually, considering
the size of the shop there are very few bikes of any type
seen being ridden in the area.

For the price, the ez-1 looks very attractive, even if
ridden infrequently. The philosophy for me has always been
no matter how much a bike costs it is always cheap. No
annual taxes, rarely do they wear out, good as new 10 years
down the road, etc... I've never minded the money spent on
bikes, kayaks, etc., for the same reason.... one and done
as they say.

If a town can support a LBS there may be more going on than
you realize. Stop in there and look around and ask questions
about when and where people are riding. (It is usually NOT
down Main St.) Get that "puppy" in the window and let your
dog run along beside you as you cruise the country.

Howdy Howie and others!

Congratulations on getting 'bent! It is an amazing feeling
to be able to bike pain free! My wife and I got 'bent last
year, as did my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter is
getting a surprise at the end of this month - a recumbent!
We'll be a complete 'bent family!

I wanted to share with you that we happen to think that the
EZ-1 bikes are terrific! Don't worry that it doesn't look
the way you'd like or anything like that - be concerned with
riding! If you're comfortable on it and are grinning, then
I'd say you picked the right bike! My youngest daughter
Rachel (10) rides a red EZ-1 SC. My oldest daughter Katy
(15) will have a blue EZ-1 SC at the end of this month. You
may hear people talk of how the bikes can't do this or
that... well, a lot of that is bunk. No one told my girls
that they couldn't climb hills well on their bikes or keep
up with me when I'm riding on my Tour Easy. Not only do they
ride comfortably, but they ride well.

You'll also find that you can modify your EZ-1 any number of
ways and it will enhance your experience! For Rachel, the
biggest thing we did to her bike was swap out the Kenda
Kontacts (40-65psi) and replace them with Kenda Kwests
(100psi). The difference was dramatic. She also has an Edge
fairing and it not only makes the bike look cool, it is
functional too. These are mods you can make relatively
inexpensively and yet they'll add tons to your riding
experiences. Katy's bike has an Edge fairing too but she
likes a more cushy ride, so we stayed with the Kenda
Kontacts for her.

Welcome to the world of recumbent riding! You'll find
recumbent riders to be quite laid back! (PUN INTENDED!)

those small muscles around my mouth used for grinning got a real work out,
I wanted to thank all of the posters on the group for all the info that is

Thanks for the note, I am amazed at how well it does ride! I
went another 10 today and I am so happy I got this, one
issue though is sliding off the front of the seat is there a
fix for this?

I would go in and talk price, I got mine for way under
retail... it had been in the shop since last fall,, alot of
smiles for the money.

Some people have placed a small wooden wedge under the front
portion of the seat mount to tilt the seat base.
