You say you previously worked out doing martial arts - was
this recently? 6 pounds up in roughly two weeks is quite a
bit, but I highly doubt it is all fat. If your workouts
haven't been consistent, (moving from the martial arts to
the ski machine) then you could very well be retaining water
due to using those muscles again. What day are you weighing
yourself to make that basis of a 6 pound gain? If Saturday
or Sunday ... again, could be even more water cuz of that
pizza. <grin> The flip side is ... don't talk yourself into
believing that the gain is due to muscle growth - 6 pounds
of newly formed muscle just ain't gonna happen in 2 weeks.
<grin> Muscle growth is a long, involved process ...
probably not going to increase much by only doing 30 minutes
stretches on a ski machine. But it will firm you up!
Problems could be ... undereating. Could also be overeating
and just not realizing it. Giving up fast food, chocolate,
soda are great steps in moving to a healthier eating
lifestyle. Replacing them with healthier foods is also
wonderful. Replacing them with higher quantities of food is
not going to help and could have you moving backwards
quickly. Your body still has to burn more calories than it
takes in, in order to lose weight.
But ... my first instinct is to tell you the problem is
more than likely fluid retention. Try drinking more water
to flush those excess fluids. Dehydradtion is a funny
thing. The less you drink, the more water your body will
hold onto ... thus making that scale appear to be saying
you are gaining weight. Just might be something you want to
look into.

lately (i previously was used to working out a good bit
though at my martial arts school, so i'm used to the
activity, it's not a new thing). i've been there 13 times
in the last 17 days doing half hour stretches on the ski
machine. and for the first time in my life my eating habits
have been GREAT (except for the occassional cheat, but
that's only been on fridays at work "pizza day"😉. i've
given up chocolate, fast food and a good deal of the soda i
used to put into myself in a day.
i gained 6 pounds in the last 2 1/2 weeks.
🙁
i started off with only about 15 pounds to lose. i am
angry.
someone say something that will make me feel better. i
really don't want to become demotivated here.
