Anyone around who knows the Holtye/Ashdown Forest area please?
A couple of my maps seem inconsistent on whether there is or isn't a public footpath through Bassett's Manor. I'm planning a walk for a group in May and I'd like to be sure.
As you see from the illustration I've posted, OS Explorer 135 'Ashdown Forest' clearly shows such a path, roughly N to S. But streetmap.co.uk

Unless there are other options you could change to easily on the day I would be very tempted to go and check the path before turning up leading a group.
In open country route changes are rarely a problem but in the lowlands they can be.

I may well be able to try it, although there are several other routes if necessary. And the footpath fellow is going to look into my recollection that there are no FP signs marking the path through the property;I expect him to call me if there's any problem.
