Hello, Can anyone recommend a Campsite with toilet facility near or on Dartmoor which is open now
through March? I need toilet facility due to a dissability otherwise I would camp wild as I used to.
Best regards, John. pbase.comjohn28julyOpen ↗

Hello, Talked to The Plume of Feathers at Princetown on Dartmoor today. Blizzard conditions!
Brilliant stuff, I will be there next week, but will I be too late? Regards, John.--

Nonsense. A little bit of white stuff with very little wind. About as close to a blizzard as a
desert island.I passed that spot (both campsite and pub) yesterday[1], and while the conditions were lovely, the
moors were also crawling with toy-soldiers on exercise. Evidently they're no longer content with the
northern parts of the moor shown as "danger area" on the maps, but have made a more wide-ranging
land grab.BTW, the number 82 bus (scenic route Exeter-Plymouth) goes right past it.

If you want snow, probably yes.
[1] not today, but I live only ten minutes away[2].
[2] That's cycling - and applies only to the predominantly-downhill direction.--

If you care to check your maps, there has been a training area/ranges in the Merrivale area for
many many years. All Mil training is very strictly controlled. Any training on private land has to
be planned and approved many months in advance, with the Land owner signing a certificate
confirming he/she is happy for that training to take place.I will be on Dartmoor this Sunday, with a Ten Tors training group. Hopefully there will be some
snow around still.PU
