  1. Do you think I could stop going to meetings and just do the WOE by myself? I could weight myself
every Friday. I'm a private type of person and don't like weighing in front of 20 other people. I
also seem to be the only guy in my area that goes.

  2. Both my wife and I never been to a single meeting. We got the brochures as well as the shopping and
restaurant guide from one of my wifes coworkers.

My wife started in June last year and I mid December. She lost 17.5 kg (38,5 lbs) and I about 7 kg
    (15,4 lbs).

    Cheers Marc

There are a couple of options. You could do it ny yourself, and post your WI results here, or you
could do WW-online if you feel you still want to be part of the group thing. Personally I dislike
paying money to the diet industry so I've done it by myself with huge amounts of help and support
    from this group.

Sure you can Richard!! Lots of people here do!! But make sure you get support from here or somewhere
else. You might also like to do WW online! Lots of options.

  6. Well, I used to find the meetings invaluable. And then, for various reasons, I was unable to keep
going. These days I just weigh at home and follow the WOE myself - so it can be done. Depends on
what kind of person you are. I found the original accountability of having to face up to someone
else when things weren't working was good. Also the camaraderie of being amongst those who really
relate to what you're going through, shared tips, support etc........... These days I'm a one
    woman band.

  7. As others have commented that you can continue to do the WW WOE without going to meetings. How
motivated are you to lose the weight? I started going to meetings at the end of April 2003 and
continued losing 1 to 1.5 pounds per week. In September I stopped going to meetings because I could
not afford both Curves and WW meetings. I found my weight loss gradually slowing down to a crawl by
Christmas time. I am now back to going to meetings and my weight loss has started to pick up again.
I think it is harder to do this alone. It is very easy to forget to follow the plan closely if there
is noone checking your progress. If you don't want to go to meetings then enlist the aid of a trust
friend or significant other to monitor your weekly progress both in pounds and inches. That way you
are not doing alone nor are you getting weighed in front of 20 people.

I'm doing this by myself. Only you can know whether you need the extra motivation a group gives.
Maybe give it a try and if it doesn't work go back. Good luck :-)

Thanks everyone for all the good answers to my post. I think I'll stop the meetings for now and see
    how things go.

  10. I do WW Online because I like the journaling tools, which make it easy for me to journal both at
home and at work. I don't like meetings either and have gotten more support from this NG than from
any WW meeting I've ever attended.
