  1. have been reading Dean Ornish's "Eat More, Weigh Less" and decided I would make some lentils with
wheat berries......i must say they were delicious......

take 1.5 cups of a mix of lentils and wheatberries and put them in a 6 cup crock pot....add 4 dried
apricots which have been cut into small dice, mix in well....

mix in small dish :2 teaspoons or more of Spanish paprika.. 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon
onion powder half teaspoon each of ginger ppowder and cumin powder and rubbed sage

stir into the lentil and wheatberry mix...add water to cover p[lus about 4 inches, cook on low
overnight....check in the morning, mixture should be cooked through but still very chewy...turn off
crock pot and let sit all day to marry flavors even more..... serve with non fat yoghurt on
top....and any other light veggie syou might want, ie, green onions, cucumbers....cherry
    tomatoes...whatever....

the lentil mix is sweet believe it or not from the apricots, although you do not really taste
them.... i am definitely going to make this again and serve over rice....
