Good morning everyone. As I start my day I am feeling angst over my Wednesday weigh in and
recognized the same old trap I fall into. I thought this may resonate with some of you. As always,
the only time I look forward to weigh in is when I know I have done well. But today I find myself
only thinking towards weigh in and not down the long road to weight loss. Once I get in this
mentality, I only care about the weigh in and abandon the following couple days. Do any of you do
this? Go off plan after you weigh in, taking a couple splurge days and then get back at it in when
you feel "ready"? Well, it is a trap I think I may have caught myself falling into. So I vow to look
forward - long term and not just to this weeks weigh in. Good luck everyone!
PS I have watched my points mostly but there were a couple days I did not journel, knowing full
well I was way over on points. So I don't know where I am going to be this week weight wise.

Bird need to lose 45#Sometimes short goals are good, and sometimes we need to take a longer view... Just stick with it as
much as you can. I find that I do better of I do journal those mad munchies days, and the days I
cannot control everything I eat: it helps me pull back later in the week.

Oh yeah, I weigh in on Sat morning, and would get back on program Monday, practically the whole
way down. The trick is, to DO IT more than you Don't and you will get there. Those perfect people
do it faster, but have a harder time with maintenance I think. Not that I am not having a hard
time,,, but...."bird" <[email hidden]> wrote in message "]news:[email hidden]...

I do this all the time....I usually weigh on Thursday, so I try to hold my "blow out" until
Saturday, and do better on Sunday, so that I end up with only one really Off Program day, but
sometimes I don't make it and I dig in on Friday...I haven't lost weight in a year, and in fact I'm
up about 10 pounds (clothes still fit though, so I think I've added some muscle from my running and
weight lifting)...SO i guess this isn't working for me anymore, I need to get a little stricter to
get these last 20 pounds off, but I have trouble staying OP all seven days...Any ideas on that one?As for your weigh-in on Wednesday, try to go easy on the carbs between now and then, that will help
you lose bloat (and least that works for me!)Good luck!

I weigh in on Saturdays and frequently use one of the weekend days as a "cheat" day when I dip into
my flex points more freely than I do during the week. By Monday, I'm always strictly back on track.
My only rule is that I journal everything I eat on those days--without judgment--so I'm always aware
of just how much I've splurged. Facing what I've done keeps me honest and helps me stay focused
during the week. This is what I love about WW: I can have days like this and still lose weight.bird said:

I get absolutely frantic if I think I am going to gain. I realized that I
am paying WW for the service of tracking my weight and helping me to educate
myself. Once I had this realization the anticipation and anxiety have been
reduced immensely. I am still working on the actual emotional aftermath of
the number on the scale. I do fine if there is a loss, no huge splurges or
over happiness just based on the number. If I gain or stay the same and I
can figure out a reason then that is fine also. The problem area is when I
have done everything that is supposed to help me lose and I gain, that is
every difficult. Instead of overeating I tend to not eat at all and that is
real disaster for me. Lee

Whenever I get to the point you are i make soup. The good old fashion
cabbage/veggie soup. Having that in the refrigerater assures I have
something to fill my stomach when the urge hits.

LOL! I take the scenic route myself..and Lesanne is right: staying OP more than staying OFF Program
will get you in the right direction. I know why I gained 10 lbs - I deliberately stayed more off
than on and surprise: I gained weight FAST. Now I am staying op 5 days out of 7 and I am losing,
slooowly, but I am getting there for sure...:o)Mette - lost 7 lbs of 10
