Who else here has tried pumello fruit? It is an Asian citrus fruit and the website says it is a cross between and orange and a grapefruit. It is a little larger than a grapefruit, but it is sweeter than and orange. The flesh of the fruit is on the pink side like a ruby red grapefruit.
I bought it about a week ago and had it in the refrigerator and decided to have it for breakfast this morning. My WW leader says she counts the whole thing about 1 point. I will say it is a lot of work to eat, the skin is about 1/2 inch thick and the membranes between the sections is very thick. I ended up slicing mine up into sections and eating it off the membrane the way you would and artichoke. It took me nearly and hour to eat it and I also had to make multiple trips to the sink to wash my hands and get more paper towels to keep my hands dry while I was eating this. It was very good and I would highly recommend it if you can find them in your stores. I think I paid either 99 cents or $1.49 for the whole fruit, they don't sell them by the pound, but by each piece of fruit. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Pomelo (I guess there are different ways to write it) were very popular when I worked in South America. I don't remember where they imported them from (they might have been growing them), but I do remember they had a soft drink called Pomelo, which used the very fruit.
Here in Montreal they sell them in most grocery stores.
Very good when you mix pomelo juice with Perrier water. Brings back memories to me!

I don't recommend just peeling it, slice it first to see how thick the skin is, the one I had was about a half inch thick.

Off topic, but are you in Montreal? Is your meeting at Loblaws Angus? If so, how about we meet there next week?
(now that would just tell me how small this world really is)
