Newbie DA/9 question

It is a matter of how far through the total available arc you move lever A. You can shift down 1, 2, or 3 cogs in a shift.

Thanks, I was aware of the 1/2/3 yet it somehow feels overly happy in the DA...

I probably just need to learn to have a lighter hand.
