What other newsgroups do people belong to ?
I sure I recognise a few names from both uk.food+drink.misc, uk.rec.running, uk.rec.climbing &

Out of curiosity, what parts of the country are people from ?

Shouldn't reply, can't resist. alt.rec.bicycles.recumbent rec.juggling rec.sport.unicycling
uk.local.bath uk.local.bristol
Although I now mark most threads as ignored - the only groups I still read in any detail are
rec.sport.unicycling and uk.rec.cycling.
I recently stopped subscribing to comp.databases.pick, uk.rec.camping and uk.people.parents, because
I wasn't getting enough out of them to justify the time spent reading the headers.

I'm guilty of the last two there, also rec.ski.backcountry, rec.games.board and uk.games.board, plus

Other than u.r.c, I occasionally pop up on other cycling ng's, and some scienctific ones for
PhD-related stuff. I'm a regular on uk.railway, sharing my obscure knowledge (or lack of it) of that
mode of transport with the rest of the ng, as well as uk.rec.models.rail, and occasionally drop in
on uk.transport.london for Tube-related stuff.

Same here (well, Wednesfield to be precise), but based in Yorkshire almost all of my adult life for

Famous/infamous for its bye-law allowing pubs to open as early as 9:30

head in South Staffs. (and possibly further afield) for many years!

my partner and I do 2 or three days or part days a week by bike. hills, weihgt to carry, distances
and time pressures vary and have to be accommodated. We think its an important duty to be seen doing
it.The fact we enjoy it is a bonus.i think it's really odd that it's not the norm for most GP's to
do some cycling thanks for the anderson paper which is now on display around the surgeries. It has
immediately reduced the time I spend explaining my choice of transport.
