  1. My son is a strong, fit nine-year-old who is ready to graduate from his kid bike to something more serious. He seems pretty interested in a road bike, and given that we could ride together you can imagine my own enthusiasm at the prospect. Still, I don't want to go overboard, and neither can I afford to do so. What I'm looking for is a recommendation for a roadbike of reasonable quality that won't break the bank. He's already too big for a 43cm, so I'm thinking that a 47-48cm might suit him for two or three years, being just a tad big for a few months and a tad small at the end of that 3-year period.
    I'd welcome all recommendations and thoughts.

  2. Find a local club and see if there are juniors who are selling bikes

    a lot of parents will be trying to sell bikes after their kids grow out of them

    plus they will probably run jounior races your little'un can have a go at
