How absurd. It's the parent's responsibility to see the children do not nibble the cookies. God, any
kid can just as easily grab a bottle of vodka from the folks bar if they were hell bent on doing so.
Same with cookies. If they're afraid the cookies will get junior/ette hammered, lock up the cookies
or stock up on baby aspirin.

The biscuits only have a minute alcohol content - 0.1%. Hard to get drunk on them! This was a pretty
big story here - on all the news programs. The concern is not so much with the fact that they
contain alcohol, but more to do with the fact that it's associating alcohol with biscuits. The
concern is that it's just further reinforcing the culture of drinking in Australia. I don't know -
as I heard someone say on one of the news shows, rum and raisin icecream has been around for years
and we don't have a huge rum problem with kids. However, I like Tim Tams as they are - don't know
why the need to lace them with Kahlua or Tia Maria, other than as a marketing ploy. I did hear that
they were aimed at young women (20s
- 30s) who apparently like to eat Tim Tams in the evening while watching TV (according to their
market research).
