  1. I think I have observed a phenomenon called the Brompton Exclusivity Principle (BEP) over the past
month. Just after Christmas my Brompton was out of use for a couple of reasons, The dynamo was
playing up and on some days I just didn't need the bike. Up until then I had been a regular on
Durham station to the point where the women checking tickets refer to me as the man with the magic
bike. The first full week I didn't use my bike and what do I find? Another Brompton user is using
my train from my station! Every evening a woman would board the train with a black Traveller.
Then, last week after fixing the dynamo, I used the Brompton. She was nowhere to be seen. Then I
get a puncture (first ever on the Brommie), what with the snow and being busy at the weekend this
has gone unrepaired so today I am without my Brompton. What do I see today on my regular train?
That's right, another Brompton rider! A guy riding a green Brommie gets on in Newcastle and off in
Durham. I've never seen him before in my life and I've been using that route for almost a year
    now. X-Files anyone?

Well, strange things do happen in the outer shells. Down here in the nucleus the isotope number just
    keeps rising. <g,d&r>

they should do an Italian Job advert with 3 (red/white/blue) being chased around London on
tubes/buses etc by Police on bikes.

How many can you get in the nucleus before it becomes unstable and starts throwing out Birdys and
    other variants.?

Complete with sequence of 3 riding around a corner, then the police who find nothing, and carry on.
3 phone boxes then open, the bikes are unfolded, and ridden away the opposite direction... ;-)

I caught the end of some travel program last night with Simon Calder claiming the three great
inventions for travellers were, airliners, the Internet and the folding bike, as he held his
    Brompton aloft.

I'd been wondering where they were all coming from. They're obviously not part of the paperclip -
    wirecoathanger - shopperbike lifecycle.

    Brilliant!

A to B Magazine, when it was called The Folder, had a series of articles about a secret agent who
rode around on a Brompton. ISTR he had a rocket launcher in the main tube and his persuers threw
    poisoned spokes at him.
