Nicely executed web site. The graphic design and balance is very aesthetically pleasing.

It looks to me like most of the non-commercial content on your site would have a more universal
appeal than just to Chicago. You have an abundance of basic information, for example, that would be
particularly helpful for all the novice cooks and would be cooks everywhere.

Too bad the content sucks. All flash and no substance e.g. the internet equivalent of a
    "Potemkin Village".

The concept of this site is very poorly thought out.

It is a nice site, but you don't mention the best thing in Chicago food - Italian Beef! Don't waste
this chance to educate the world.

Well I liked the alcohol substitution bit and could see that developing as people post their
experiences with booze alternatives. For example, I tried purple grape juice in my bolognese, but it
was far too sweet although it was a step in the right direction flavour wise. Last time I chucked in
some actual grapes (minus seeds), still a bit sweetish. I have some verjuice to experiment with, the
    next time I make it.

Now to go back and check the conversion page...

  7. Loki,

I bet that grape juice thing was interesting though! lol....thanks for stopping by the site, if
you come up with some substitutions of your own, please drop me a line, I would love to post them
    to the site!

    Happy Eating!

  8. Tashi,

Thanks so much for checking out SFC! I appreciate that, and come february, we will be getting into
restaurant stuff, and I plan to hold my own poll about the best places in chicago for stuff such as
Italian Beef...so stay tuned and visit often!

    Happy Eating!

  9. Hi----

Glad you have a website. :-))

If you review/recommend places to eat, will you be sure to also include the suburbs?

Some of the Chicago newspaper reviews only go so far, far, way out far, out as far as Western Ave------Gasp!!--
just exaggerating, but not too much. There are probably 4 to 5 million of us out here beyond the
    Chicago city limits :-))

    Good luck on your endeavor!!

    Best--- Ron

You would do well to go to www.chowhound.com and check the Chicago board. Lots of talk about Chicago
metro area restos, especially the 'burbs....

Did you see Friday's _Tribune_? There was a good article about "diplomatic dining", e.g. where
Chicago - based diplomats go to dine for authentic home cooking. Many of the places were in the
    suburbs....
