So apparently, there are road cyclists out there who still cant manage to drink enough water during a race - its not like its rocket science, folks. What are some tips for recognizing and responding to early signs of dehydration during a race, considering some of you seem to need your hands held through every basic aspect of cycling?
Do you guys really need to be told to drink when youre sweating buckets or is that just a given thats too complex for some of you to grasp? And what about those of you who seem to think that dehydration is just a myth perpetuated by the hydration industry - how do you manage to convince yourselves that youre not actually losing all that water when youre dripping with sweat?
Ive seen some of you roadies trying to be all macho and tough by not drinking enough, but lets be real, dehydration is not something to be taken lightly - it can ruin your whole ride and leave you feeling like a deflated balloon. So, come on, share your tips and tricks for staying hydrated, or better yet, just use some common sense and drink when youre thirsty, geez.
And while were at it, can someone please explain to me why road cyclists seem to have such a hard time with this? Is it because youre all too busy trying to look cool in your tight lycra to actually pay attention to your own bodies? I mean, mountain bikers and cyclocross riders seem to manage just fine, so whats the deal with you roadies?
