Whats the bare minimum IQ required to figure out that not all bike computers are created equal, and some are actually designed to work seamlessly with specific bike models. Im still trying to wrap my head around why someone would even think to pair a high-end road bike with a basic, generic bike computer thats only slightly more sophisticated than a Casio watch.
Can someone please explain, in excruciating detail, how to select a bike computer thats actually compatible with a specific bikes make and model. I mean, is it really that hard to check the manufacturers website, or look for compatibility reviews from reputable sources. Do people just blindly buy whatever bike computer is on sale at the local bike shop, without doing even the most basic research.
And whats with all the threads Ive seen where people are having issues with their bike computer not syncing with their bikes sensors, or not displaying the correct data. Dont they know that some bike computers are specifically designed to work with certain types of sensors, or that some bikes require a specific type of computer to display certain types of data.
Im not asking for much, just a basic level of competence when it comes to choosing a bike computer thats actually compatible with your bike. Is that really too much to ask.
