  1. Hi

    sorry if this is OT.

I found a camera (complete with Film )in a burn on Stob Garbh (ben cruachan) in mid december. A
proffesional lab manged to get some images off it and there are some pretty special piccies on it. I
would love to get the camera and photos back to the owner

If it is yours, please reply to this post.

cheers & sorry to distract you

    Gary

Wouldn't class it as OT ... in fact very helpful, and honest of you to offer help, especially with
something like a camera and pics, probably so special to someone.

    Great on you, I say.

The likelihood of the owner being on this newsgroup is *very* remote (sic)

Why don't you pass on the pics to your local TV station and ask if they'll show a few. That's more
likely to find the owners especially if there's faces in the images.

It's probably worth reporting this to the lost & found at the Oban police. I did this with the NW
police over the phone with a memory card I found on Snowdon. No tekers yet though :-(( Cheers Graham

I can't imagine that anyone here will object to such a post; you are to be commended for your
honesty. I assume you've tried the other 'outdoor' NGs - have you tried the local papers in case
anyone recognises one of the photos (are there any people in them?) A hotel or somewhere might
recognise a recent guest, for example. Just a thought.

    Hi Gary.

If you e-mail me with your contact details I'll get this notice into the next edition of The
Scottish Mountaineer magazine, there might be a reasonable chance of it getting picked up on.

Similar thing happened to us last year. Found a camera on Perranporth beach, got the film developed
and some of the pics of the people in the shots were shown on local TV. The owners lived in
Manchester, but were recognised by one of the locals who were 'related' to one of them.

  9. There is a site on the internet where you can view and upload photos that have lost their home.
Hoping one day that some one may view and find their long lost piccy's. The bad news is I don't know
the web address of the site. Perhaps a google search may find it. Sorry I cant be more helpful.

I will post your question in Dutch travel and photo newsgroups. Scotland is becoming more and more
interesting for walkers and climbers from Holland. We even got a lot of Monroebaggers.
